3 & 4 year old funding (FEE)

All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to FEE the term after their third birthday. FEE is a core offer of 570 hours per year. It can be taken as 15 hours per week over 38 weeks (term time only) or 12 hours per week over 48 weeks (all year round.)

30 hours of free early education and childcare subject to eligibility:

We also offer 30 hours free early education and childcare entitlement for eligible 3 and 4 year olds. This can be taken as 30 hours a week (term time only) or 24 hours a week (all year round.)

Who is eligible for the 30 hours?

The additional 15 hours will be available to families where both parents are working (or the sole parent is working in a lone parent family), and where each parent earns, on average, a weekly minimum equivalent of 16 hours at national minimum wage or national living wage, and earns less than £100,000 per year. An eligible child can receive this entitlement from the term after their third birthday until they start reception class at school.
